5. Fear RP
Definition: "Fear RP" is a roleplay rule that requires players to act realistically in situations where their character's life is in immediate danger. This means that players should prioritize their character's survival and make decisions that reflect the natural instinct to avoid harm or death. Failing to do so is often referred to as "FailRP" (Fail Roleplay).
Rule:
Players must demonstrate fear for their character's life when faced with life-threatening situations. This includes complying with demands, avoiding actions that would escalate danger, and generally acting in a way that a person would if their life were truly at risk.
In situations where your character is outnumbered, outgunned, or at a severe disadvantage, you must comply with the aggressor's demands or seek a non-confrontational way out, unless there is a realistic chance of survival.
Examples of Failing to Show Fear for Your Life
Non-Compliance Under Threat: A player is held at gunpoint by multiple armed characters demanding that they hand over their belongings. Instead of complying, the player tries to run away or pull out their own weapon, leading to an unrealistic and non-immersive scenario.
Confronting Armed Attackers: A character is cornered by a group of heavily armed criminals demanding money. Rather than cooperating or seeking a way to escape, the character insults them and escalates the situation without any reasonable chance of survival.
Ignoring Threatening Situations: A player is in a hostage situation where the captor threatens to kill them if they don't comply with specific demands. The player ignores the threats, behaves casually, or acts recklessly, which would not be realistic under such circumstances.
Non-Examples (Proper Fear for Your Life)
Compliance When Outnumbered: A character is surrounded by three armed robbers who demand their valuables. The character, recognizing the danger and their lack of options, complies fully with the robbers' demands to avoid getting hurt or killed.
Attempting to Escape When It’s Realistic: A character is being held at gunpoint but sees a nearby exit or cover that could provide a reasonable chance to escape. They make a run for it, which could be seen as a realistic survival instinct.
Surrendering in a No-Win Situation: A player is caught in an ambush by a large gang, with no weapons or means of defense. Recognizing the hopelessness of the situation, the player surrenders and cooperates to avoid escalating the danger.
Consequences: Failing to show fear for your life can lead to warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans, depending on the severity and impact on the roleplay experience. Players are expected to create a believable and immersive environment, respecting the dangers presented in the roleplay world. Violations should be reported to the management with evidence for review and appropriate action.
