4. Random Deathmath (RDM)
Definition: Random Deathmatch (RDM) is the act of killing or attacking another player or their character without any valid in-character (IC) reason or prior interaction. RDM disrupts the roleplay experience, undermines the immersive nature of the game, and is generally considered griefing or trolling.
Rule:
RDM is strictly prohibited. Players are not allowed to engage in violent actions, including killing or attacking other players, without proper IC context, such as a developed storyline, conflict, or provocation.
All violent encounters must have a clear and justifiable IC reason. This means that actions should be motivated by the ongoing roleplay scenario and not done arbitrarily or out of character (OOC).
Examples of RDM
Unprovoked Killing: A player randomly shoots and kills another player in the street without any prior interaction, conflict, or reason. This is RDM.
Attacking Without Warning: A player walks up to another player in a safe zone and suddenly attacks them with a melee weapon or fists, without any roleplay interaction leading up to the attack. This is RDM.
Random Drive-By Shooting: A player drives by a group of players and opens fire without any IC reason or prior roleplay context. This act disrupts the game and is considered RDM.
Non-Examples (Legitimate Scenarios)
IC Conflict Resolution: Two characters have an ongoing feud that has escalated over time, leading one to seek revenge by attacking the other. The attack is rooted in a storyline and not random, making it a valid RP action.
Self-Defense: A player is threatened or attacked by another character and responds by defending themselves with lethal force. As long as the self-defense is justified within the context of the roleplay, it is not considered RDM.
Consequences: Players found guilty of RDM may face warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. All incidents of RDM should be reported to the management team with evidence for appropriate action.
